2023-24RESOLUTION NO. 2023-24
COUNCIL MEMBER SCHANK INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION:
WHEREAS, Nebraska Revised Statute §16-308 and Blair City Code Chapter 1, Article 3
authorizes the Mayor of Blair to appoint, with City Council approval, certain city officials, namely:
Assistant City Administrator, City Clerk, City Treasurer, Director of Public Works, City Engineer,
and City Attorney; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor desires to appoint Aaron Barrow as the Assistant City
Administrator; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor desires to appoint Brenda Wheeler as the City Cleric; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor desires to appoint Lindsay Burton as the City Treasurer; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor desires to appoint Allen Schoemaker as the Director of Public
Works and the City Engineer; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor desires to appoint Desirae M. Solomon as the City Attorney; and
WHEREAS, the Mayoral appointments of the above-named individuals are acceptable to
the City of Blair.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Aaron Barrow is appointed as the Assistant
City Administrator; Brenda Wheeler is appointed as the City Cleric; Lindsay Burton is appointed
as the City Treasurer; Allen Schoemaker is appointed as the Director of Public Works and the City
Engineer; and Desirae M. Solomon is appointed as the City Attorney and is hereby adopted and
approved by the municipality and the Mayor and City Cleric of the City of Blair are hereby
authorized and directed to execute the same on behalf of the municipality.
COUNCIL MEMBER SCHANK MOVED THAT THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED AS
READ, WHICH SAID MOTION WAS SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER WOLFF, UPON
ROLL CALL, COUNCIL MEMBERS FERRARI, SANDVOLD, WILLIS, WOLFF, SCHANK,

PAULSEN AND HAFER VOTING "AYE" AND COUNCIL MEMBERS NONE VOTING
`NAY", THE MAYOR DECLARED THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION PASSED AND
APPROVED THIS 13TH DAY OF JUNE 2023.
