2022-44RESOLUTION NO. 2022-44 COUNCIL MEMBER HAFER INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION: WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council were presented with notification from Police Chief Joseph Lager that a second anonymous donor would like to donate $1,200.00 to the Blair Police Department for the purposes of the Blair Police Officers to distribute twelve (12) one hundred dollar ($100.00) bills to the public. WHEREAS, the Blair Police Department wishes to participate in this additional community activity to distribute the funds at Goodwill, Joseph's Coat, Family Fare, Hospital Auxiliary, Wal-Mart, The Washtub and Dollar General. Each location will have two (2) one - hundred -dollar ($100.00) bills distributed to a member of the public by a uniformed Blair Police Department Officer, and shall be approved by the Mayor and City Council. WHEREAS, then after the City of Blair receives the anonymous funds in the amount of $1200.00, the City shall be allowed to withdrawal the twelve (12) one -hundred -dollar ($100.00) bills from the City's bank account as cash. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Blair Police Department is allowed to participate in this community program and the City is allowed to withdraw the cash funds after the anonymous donation is received, and said action is hereby adopted and approved by the municipality and the Mayor and City Cleric of the City of Blair are hereby authorized and directed to execute the same on behalf of the municipality. COUNCIL MEMBER HAFER MOVED THAT THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED AS READ, WHICH SAID MOTION WAS SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER PAULSEN. UPON ROLL CALL, COUNCIL MEMBERS FERRARI, HAFER, HIGHFILL, PAULSEN, WOLFF, AND WILLIS VOTING "AYE" AND COUNCIL MEMBERS NONE VOTING `NAY", THE MAYOR DECLARED THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 13TH DAY OF DECEMBER 2022.
