Hehs that are tired oi' 1929 plan!to start the new year on Novem~
ber 1;That is the day the natural
calendar year for the hen's pro-
duction begins.Several hundred
poultrymen will enroll their birds
in the University record flock pro-
ject and begin keeping records on
their chickens on that day.
The record blank sheets have
bcen revised and made easier and
more simple t o keep.County
agents will soon have a supply
of them to distribute free of
charge.Inspectors w h o band
birds for the Nebraska poultry im-
provement association will also be
able to discuss the record keeping
with poultryhnen whom they visit_
About 300 poultrymen started keep
ing records on their hens lust
year.It is hoped that double that
number will start this year.
In getting ready for the new
year, October is the month to cull
the flock of all pallets lacking
size, vigor, and egg laying char-
actedstics.All older hens not es~
peciallywaluable for breeding pur-
poses should be sold off before the
conth sort of a bully, wlid observed

over, the bully said, "I don't be-

minister took no notice of the re~
mark and read on.In a minute or
two,the bully.more boisterous
than before said," I told you I
don't believe a word you're readin
But the minister ignored him and
continued to read
This seemed to irritate the bull)who stood im.waving his arm
attracting the attention of all i'\

The minister tumed and quietly
asked, "Wouldn't you just as soonthen, go to hell quietly?
