COMMITTEE MEETING

Meeting called to order by Chairman Carl Lorenzen.
This meeting will be conducted in accordance with the Nebraska Open Meeting Act.
Committee members present: Carl Lorenzen, Heath Reyzlik, Peggy Frahm, Bob Tichota
1) Minutes from previous meeting were presented. Minutes were not approved due to
the fact that only one person from that meeting was present.
2) Craig Heuton from Edward Jones was present to review the portfolio. Craig gave
information on risk and made a recommendation that more money be placed in the
income funds. Carl expressed his opposition to bonds.
3) Fire & Rescue members present would like to encourage members to come to the
meeting next year. It is an open meeting anyone can attend.
4) Carl and Craig Heuton will be in touch to see if a meeting is needed in June to discuss
the volatility of the market.
5) A discussion was held regarding finances. The fund balance on September 30, 2017 was
$22,682.47. Carl, Heath & Bob decided that $10,682.47 will be invested toward the
purchase of a new squad. The balance of $12,000.00 will be divided evenly between
the qualifying members.
6) There were 24 members who qualified for the service award program. We will receive
an official letter from the Fire & Rescue Department stating their commitment for this
year.
