COUNCIL MEMBER WILLIS INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING ORDINANCE:
AN ORDINANCE CREATING SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION DISTRICT N [_IM 3ER 81 OF
THE CITY OF BLAIR, NEBRASKA; ESTABLISHING THE OUTER BOUNDRIES OF SAID
DISTRICT; DESIGNING THE SIZE, LOCATION AND TERMINAL POINTS OF THE
SANITARY SEWER LINES FOR SAID DISTRICT; AND REFERING TO PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS AND ESTIMATE OF THE ENGINEER IN CONNECTION THEREWITH
ON FILE WITH THE CITY CLERK; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING WHEN THIS ORDINANCE
SHALL BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT AND PUBLISHED IN PAMPHLET FORM
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BLAIR,
NEBRASKA.
SECTION 1. The mayor and city council of the City of Blair, Nebraska, hereby find and
determine it is necessary and advisable to extend the municipal sanitary sewer system beyond the
existing system by the construction of a sanitary sewer main pursuant to the authority granted by
Section 19-2402 R.R.S. Neb. 1943. That said sanitary sewer main extension shall commence at
the existing sanitary sewer manhole as described in Section 3 hereof, that none of the properties
located within the Sanitary Sewer District hereby created are presently served by the City's existing
system of sanitary sewer service; and that all property within said District is either within the
corporate limits of the City of Blair or within one mile beyond such corporate limits.
SECTION 2. There is hereby created Sanitary Sewer District Number 81, the outer
boundaries of which are included in the following described real estate, to -
wit:
West Valley Subdivision legally describes as follows: Beginning at the
Northeast Corner of Block 18 in Section 11, Township 18 North, Range
1 I East of the 6th Principle Meridian; thence on the east line of said Block
18 and Block 7 in Section 11, Township 18 North, Range 11 East of the
6th Principle Meridian, and the west right-of-way of 24t" Street, s02
33'56"E distance of 711.65 feet to the north right-of-way of Nebraska
Street, S87 33'56"W a distance of 711.74 feet; thence N53 19'46"W a
distance of 99.04 feet; thence N30 21'30"E a distance of 773.28 feet to the
north line of said Block 18; thence on the north line of Block 18, N87
42'02"E a distance of 368.16 feet to the NE Corner of said Block 18, and
the west right-of-way of 241h Street, and the point of beginning, said tract
has an area of 422,620.27 square feet, or 9.7 acres more or less an addition
to the City of Blair, Washington County, Nebraska
SECTION 3. The size, location and terminal points of the proposed improvements for
Sanitary Sewer Extension District Number 81 are described as follows:
Size and Type of Material: Eight -inch (8") P.V.C. sewer main with
concrete manholes.
Location and Terminal Points: The location and terminal points of the
proposed improvements are extending from a point at 24th & Jackson
Streets South along the west side of 20 Street to Nebraska Street, and
southwest to North 251" Circle to the south end of the street, all within the
West Valley Subdivision, City of Blair, Washington County, Nebraska.
SECTION 4. A more detailed description of the proposed improvements is shown on
the plans and specifications on file at the office of the City Clerk, City
Hall, City of Blair, 218 South 16t' Street, Blair, Nebraska 68008. In
addition, the contract documents may be examined at the office of
Foleyshald Engineering, LLC, 14503 Grover Street, Suite 102, Omaha,
Nebraska 68144. Said plans and specifications are hereby incorporated by
reference as set forth herein. Reference should be made to said plans and
specifications for the specific sizing of pipes and mains shown above.
SECTION 5. The engineers' estimate of total construction cost for the proposed sanitary
sewer improvements, as set heretofore filed with the City Clerk for
Sanitary Sewer District Number 81 is $121,995.00
SECTION 6. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 7. This ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication as provided by law.
