COUNCIL MEMBER HALL INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING ORDINANCE:
AN ORDINANCE ADJUSTING AND ESTABLISHING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE
VOTING WARDS FOR MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS IN THE. CITY OF BLAIR, NEBRASKA;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING WHEN THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE IN FORCE AND
EFFECT AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION OF THIS ORDINANCE IN PAMPHLET
FORM.
SECTION 1. Pursuant to Neb. Rev. Stat. 32-552 et. seq. and Neb. Rev. Stat. 16-101 et.
seq., the Mayor and City Council of the City of Blair, Nebraska, in an effort to make the four
voting wards substantially equal in population as determined by the most recent federal decennial
census, do hereby adjust and establish the boundaries of the election wards for the City of Blair
Nebraska as set forth on the diagram attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and incorporated by this
reference herein.
SECTION 2. The Mayor and City Council of the City of Blair, Nebraska hereby declare
that the adjustments to the voting wards set forth on Exhibit "A" and Exhibit "B" shall be effective
for the next municipal election for the City of Blair, Nebraska and for each municipal election
thereafter until this Ordinance is amended or rescinded.
SECTION 3. The City clerk of the City of Blair, Nebraska is hereby authorized and
directed to notify the Washington County Clerk/Election Commissioner of the need and necessity
of her office to perform such adjustments on her records and establish the ward boundaries to
conform with Exhibit "A" attached hereto.
SECTION 4. All ordinances, resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict with the
provisions of this Ordinance are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed.
SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form and take effect as
provided by law.
