COUNCIL MEMBER ANDERSEN INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION:
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council have been presented with a Resolution to adopt
speed limits for specified streets and roadways or parts thereof.
WHEREAS, the specified streets and roadways or parts thereof, that shall be amended and
adopted pertain to Highway US -30, Highway N-91, Highway 133, and Highway US -75 as outlined
herein:
SECTION 1. The following speed limits be hereby set, established, and adopted for and
along the specified streets and roadways or parts thereof.
A. On Highway US -30 as follows:
From Washington County Road 26 (South of Corporate Limits) to the south line of the
SETA NW 1/4 of Section 23, Township 18 North, Range 11 East shall be 65 MPH.
From 500 feet east of River Road to the Iowa State Line (East Corporate Limits) shall be
55 MPH.
B. On Highway N-91 as follows:
From 32nd Street (West Corporate Limits) to 850 feet west of 25th Street shall be 45 MPH.
C. On Highway US -75 as follows:
From 250 feet south of Washington County Road Number P35 to Washington County Road
Number P35 shall be 65 MPH.

From Washington County Road Number P35 to 450 feet South of Butler Street shall be 45
From 450 feet south of Butler Street to Washington Street shall be 35 MPH
From Washington Street to 22nd Street shall be 35 MPH

From 22nd Street to 425 feet northwest of 25th Avenue shall be 45 MPH.
School speed zone from 200 feet south of Butler Street to 200 feet north of South Street
shall be 25 MPH
This School Speed Zone is to be in effect one (1) hour before the tardy bell until the tardy
bell and from dismissal to 1 hour after dismissal on school days only.
School Speed Zone from 400 feet south of Deerfield Boulevard to 650 feet north of
Deerfield Boulevard shall be 35 MPH.
This School Speed Zone is to be in effect 1 hour before the tardy bell until the tardy bell
and from dismissal to 1 hour after the dismissal on school days only.
D. On Highway N-133 as follows:
From 2,300 feet south of Herman Boulevard (South Corporate Limits) to Herman
Boulevard shall be 50 MPH,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the speed limits as outlined herein, are
hereby adopted and approved by the municipality and the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of
Blair are hereby authorized and directed to execute the same on behalf of the municipality.
COUNCIL MEMBER ANDERSEN MOVED THAT THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED AS
READ, WHICH SAID MOTION WAS SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER RUMP. UPON
ROLL CALL, COUNCIL MEMBERS SHEPARD, STEWART, RUMP, ANDERSEN, WOLFF,
JENSEN AND HALLVOTING "AYE" AND COUNCIL MEMBERS NONE VOTING `NAY",
THE MAYOR DECLARED THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION PASSED AND APPROVED
