2020-14RESOLUTION NO. 2020-14 COUNCIL MEMBER RUMP INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION: A RESOLUTION ADOPTING AND APPROVING A POLICY TO ALLOW THE USE OF SECTION 8 HOUSING FOSTER YOUTH INITIATIVE (FYI) VOUCHERS IN THE CITY OF BLAIR, NEBRASKA. Whereas, there is an opportunity to provide youth coming out of the foster care program with housing payment assistance; and, Whereas, it is in the best interest of the Fremont Housing Agency and the City of Blair to offer the Section 8 Housing FYI Voucher Program to youth aged 18-24 of the Blair community: and, Whereas, the Blair City Council agrees to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement for the Fremont Housing Agency Section 8 Housing FYI Voucher Program provision of vouchers in the Blair community and considers the Fremont Housing Agency as a means of providing former Foster Care Youth aged 18-24 with rental subsidy funds in the Blair Community. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BLAIR, NEBRASKA, that the Memorandum of Understanding attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and by this reference made a part of hereof as though fully set forth herein is hereby approved by the City of Blair, Nebraska, and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute and deliver, on behalf of the City of Blair, Nebraska, any documents that may be necessary for approval of said agreement. COUNCIL MEMBER RUMP MOVED THAT THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED AS READ, WHICH SAID MOTION WAS SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER SHEPARD. UPON ROLL CALL, COUNCIL MEMBERS JENSEN, HALL, ANDERSEN, WOLFF, WILLIS, RUMP, STEWART AND SHEPARD VOTING "AYE" AND COUNCIL MEMBERS NONE VOTING "NAY", THE MAYOR DECLARED THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 14TH DAY OF APRIL 2020.
