Purpose: Help Fund Batting Cage Project at Vet's field
The total project is estimated to cost approximately $27,000 for Concrete,
support poles, cables, netting, turf, hitter's box turf, pitching turf, protective L -
Screens, Chain link fencing and labor.
The cage will be primarily used by the American Legion Junior and Senior teams,
the High School Varsity, Junior Varsity, freshman teams, and occasionally Blair
Cubs. First priority will always be the Legion teams.
Funding:
Total Cost: $27,000
Funds raised through donations and labor to date: $24,000
Balance of funds to be raised $ 3,000
Keno funds requested: $3,000
The Blair American Legion will again host the Area district American Legion Junior
tournament this July and looks forward to hosting more in the future due to the
fantastic facility. With the approval of the Keno funds the project will be
completed by the end of June.

On behalf of the Blair American legion baseball program I am writing
you in hope for some additional funding for our batting cage facility at
Vets field Blair Ne.
The cages along with the field will be used by both the Jr & Sr legion
teams along with High School Varsity, JV and Freshman teams. Also
on occasion the Blair Cubs teams.
The total cost of a 2 cage set up is about $27,000.00, including
concrete and labor, support poles and labor, cables, netting, turf,
hitters box turf, pitching turf, protective L -screens and chain link
fencing.
I have raised $24,000.00 in cash donations and labor donations and I
am falling a little short of our goal.
We are looking for $3000.00 to finish our project, the money yet
needed would be to purchase the hitters mats, pitchers turf, protective
L -screens and chain link fencing.
I have already purchased most of these items with my own money so
we could keep the project on schedule.
We were hoping to be considered for the Keno funds under the
Legion.
The project is well under way and will be ready for it's first use by the
middle to end of this May 2015.
The Blair Jr's will be hosting the District tournament this year and look
forward to hosting more in the future do to the fantastic facility we
have.
