In 1998 a group of local citizens had organized to renovate on of Blair's oldest
and most significant recreational facilities; Veterans Memorial Field
We have completed two phases of the renovation over the past 3 1/2 years at
a total cost of approximately $135,000 in volunteer time and money.
We have now been fortunate to receive 4 steel lite poles from the Valmont
Foundation with the help of Mike Boeka. Out budget for placing and mounting
new lites is as follows:

OPPD would like to schedule time in March. The project must be
operational by the middle of May for season opening. The Vets Field Committee
now ask for your approval of funds to cover the OPPD costs, which are bid for a
total of $4,515.00. Copy of bid from OPPD attached.

Dear Pat,
I have the estimates for the installation and removal of the outfield lights at Veteran's
field in Blair. The estimates for the various options are listed below:
Estimate #1 - OPPD to install'4 light bases - $1,563.00.
Estimate #2 OPPD to install additional 2 sections on all 4 bases previously installed -
$1,563.00
Estimate #3 - OPPD to remove existing 90' wood poles with existing lights removed -
$1,042.00.
Estimate #4 — OPPD to remove the existing lights on the existing wood poles - $347.00.
Estimate#1 assumes that the rock backfill will be provided and that the City of Blair will
provide the labor to install the rock backfill.
Estimate #2 assumes that the sections are bare and OPPD will not be installing any lights
or hardware.
Estimate #3 assumes that all existing lights and hardware have been removed from the
existing 90' wood poles prior to OPPD removing them.
All estimates will require OPPD to drive heavy equipment on property. OPPD will not
be responsible for repair of property that could be damaged during the process of setting
or removal of poles as well as the installation or removal of lights:
