Youth between the ages of 3 through high school play soccer from early Spring through late Fall. We currently have over 500 registered players and the numbers continue to grow. Our goal is to provide all area youth a program and facilities to learn how to play the game of soccer. We also have provided youth and adults the opportunity to become certified referees and/or licensed coaches through the Nebraska State Soccer Association. Capital improvements have been financed by volunteer labor and operating income from dues, concession, and sign advertising revenue. As the number of youth playing soccer grows, the need for additional fields and improvements to older fields becomes necessary. Project Identification: This project involves renovation of Field #3 and the addition of a new field at the Youth Sports Complex. Field #3 was originally done by volunteers many years ago and although maintained by the Blair Soccer Association, it needs to be updated. Many of the sprinkler heads no longer work. The project would include killing the existing vegetation, putting a new topdress mix down, seeding the field, and then installing a new sprinkler system into our existing control system. We would also like to add a new field next to our existing Field #1 by the cemetery. The new field would be used by all age groups for practices and games. The new field size would be 120 yards by 70 yards.
