We have averaged over 450 players per year in the 1990's. We are projecting this numbr to grow, and expect to be over 500 youth in 1999. Capital improvements in the past have been financed by volunteer labor and equipment, concession revenues and donations. Our objective has been, and will continue to be to provide an opportunity for all youths of Blair to participate on the best facilites in the area, for the least cost possible. Project Identification The project is construction of a new batting cage located at the north end of the complex between Hardy field and the girls softball fields. The design is for a four bay batting facility, with two bays set up for 60' and two for 75'. The floor will be concrete, that slopes for easy collection of balls. We will have the ability for practice from batting machines or live pitching. It will also have a roof for practicing during inclimate weather. Total costs of the facility will be $40,000. Source of Funds We have already talked and received approval with Washington County Bank for a low interest loan for the project. Sources of revenue to help pay off the loan will come from: Sign Income $7,000 Annual Concession Income $3,000 Annual We are at this time asking for $20,000 from Keno funds, which will be 50% of the project. The other half we will finance and repay through sign income and concession income. We hope to have this paid off within three years. Thank You for consideration of this application.
