2019-14RESOLUTION NO. 2019- 14 COUNCIL MEMBER RUMP INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION: WHEREAS, the Blair Police Department, Blair Volunteer Fire Department, Blair Public Works, and other city offices have radios that are obsolete and no longer in use. WHEREAS, the City of Blair purchased new radios for the Blair Police Department, Blair Volunteer Fire Department, Blair Public Works, and other city offices, that are either currently in use, or will be placed in use in the very near future. WHEREAS, Washington County assisted in the purchasing contract and programming of the new radios for the City of Blair. Washington County will be disposing of all the city radios, Washington County radios, and other radios under the Interlocal Agreement with the intention of purchasing the Radio Management License for the new radio system. WHEREAS, Washington County contacted and will be working with Sunny Communications to properly dispose of the City of Blair's old radios safely and at no charge to the City of Blair. Washington County has the intention using all the funds received for the purchase of the Radio Management License which will allow Washington County and the City of Blair to remotely program all the radios over a computer system. WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council have been presented with this Resolution which would declare that the old radios obsolete and having no value to the City of Blair and would designate Washington County to dispose of the city radios with Sunny Communications for the purpose of using the funds to purchase the Radio Management License for the radio system. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the old radios are obsolete and have no value to the City of Blair and Washington County is hereby designated with the authority to recycle said old radios. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Resolution is hereby adopted and approved by the municipality and the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Blair are hereby authorized and directed to execute the same on behalf of the municipality. COUNCIL MEMBER RUMP MOVED THAT THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED AS READ, WHICH SAID MOTION WAS SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER ANDERSEN. UPON ROLL CALL, COUNCIL MEMBERS SHEPARD, RUMP, WILLIS, WOLFF, ANDERSEN, JENSEN AND HALL VOTING "AYE" AND COUNCIL MEMBERS NONE VOTING `NAY", THE MAYOR DECLARED THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 28TH DAY OF MAY, 2019.
