1990-04-10MINUTES OF THE Blair Board of adjustment on April 10, 1990
A meeting of the Blair Board of Adjustment was held at noon
on Tuesday, April 10, 1990, at the Blair City Council
Chambers.
Board members present were: Jim Martin, Ken Rhoades, Margaret
Beck, A. J. Snowbeck and Mark Kettlekamp. Absent was Bob
Carlson.
Motion was made by Beck and seconded by Kettlekamp that the
minutes of the last meeting be accepted and not read at this
meeting. All in favor said, "Aye" for a unanimous vote.
Chairman Martin invited Dick Thiele, of RT. 1 Box 273, Blair,
to speak on his request for a variance for 1105 Stillmeadow Circle,
Lot 13 in Stillmeadow Addition of Blair. The variance was for
four feet, from the south eve line, of a new home to be constructed
on that lot. A 13 foot side yard was being requested on the south.
Mr. Thiele stated that the garage, to the south of the new house,
is one story and he felt it should not have the additional ten
feet clear space required for _a two story house. The north side
of the new home is two story and the seventeen foot sideyard
is provided in that area.
A neighbor in the area of the new home, Ann Thieman, spoke on
her concern about the confusion and violations that other area
homes have in regard to side -yard distances, outbildings and
sidewalks. She asked for a clarification.
City Attorney Wyman Nelson said that some of the situations
are due to private convenants and errors in interpretations
of the ordinances.
Mark Kettlekamp moved to approve the 4 foot variance on the
south side yard of the Dick Thiele proposed home. The motion
was seconded by Margaret Beck. All Board members present
voted in favor of the motion.
There being no further business to come before the Board of
Adjustment the meeting was adjourned -at 12:20 p.m.
