BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
A meeting of the City of Blair's Board of Adjustment was held on
Monday, April 24, 1989, at 12:00 noon in the Council Chambers of
the City of Blair, Nebraska.
Present at the meeting were Snowbeck, Rhoades, Martin, Beck,
Kettlecamp and Carlson. Snowbeck is the Alternate and did not
vote.
Also present were Bill Wilson., Wyman Nelson, Robert Schmid and
Patricia Kuhl.
Martin presided over the meeting and asked for the reading of the
previous meeting on April 10, 1989. Motion by Rhoades to suspend
the reading of the previous meeting, seconded by Beck, and
carried.
KUHL APPLICATION:
Wyman Nelson explained the variance actually was only four feet
addition that the Kuhl's would need to add a foundation to the
existing one so they could put a fabricated house on the old and
new foundation at 1054 State --St., City of Blair. Bill Wilson has
inspected the proposed front yard set back and it is in compliance.
Martin asked for questions from the Board and brought the matter to a
vote. Rhoades made the motion to accept the Kuhl variance, seconded
by Beck, and carried (5-0).
SCHMID APPLICATION:
Robert Schmid appeared again before the Board of Adjustment for a
variance at 621 North 10th Ave., City of Blair. Mr. Schmid was
asking for a 3 ft. variance from the required 7 ft. for side yard
setback.
After a discussion, Rhoades felt it was setting a precedent to grant
approval as there are other single car garages on the same block
and the property ownersmight also ask for a variance and the build-
ings on the property would be too close to each.other.
Motion made by Rhoades to deny the application for the variance,
seconded by Beck. Martin asked for a vote of the Board Numbers.
Beck, Martin and Rhoades - aye; Kettlecamp and Carlson - nay. Vote
3 to 2 to deny the application of Robert A. Schmid at 621 No. 10th,
in the City of Blair, Nebraska.
There being no other business at this time. a motion to adjourn was
made by Beck, seconded by Kettlecamp, and carried.
