1987-04-06Minutes of Meeting City of Blair BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT A meeting of the City of Blair's Board of Adjustment was held on Monday, April 6, 1987, at 12:00 noon in the City Council Chambers of the City of Blair, Nebraska. Members present were Martin, Duden, Beck, Rhoades, and Snowbeck. Member absent was Carlson. Also present were Doug Bullock, Blane Lemmons and John Shotwell. Motion by Rhoades, seconded by Duden, to approve the October 31, 1987, minutes as written. All members present voting Aye, Chairman Martin declared the motion carried. Consideration of a Variance for John Shotwell of Blair Glass Company to construct a solarium on the front of his building at 760 Front Street was the purpose of this meeting. Mr. Shotwell explained that a display model was required in order to have a franchise. Rhoades questioned perhaps putting the solarium on the side of the building. Mr. Shotwell explained that few people would notice the solarium if located on the side of the building. Martin questioned extending the grass over to the side of the sidewalk to help prevent parking on that area. Motion by Duden, seconded by Beck, to approve the construction of a solarium on the front of the building. This will be permitting a ten -foot Variance. All members present voting Aye, Chairman Martin declared the motion carried. There being no other business at this time, motion by Beck, seconded by Rhoades to adjourn the meeting. All members present voting Aye, Chairman Martin declared the meeting adjourned.
