BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
#1® A meeting of the City of Blairfs Board of Adjustment was held on.
Monday, May 99 1983, at 12 noon in the Council Chambers of the
City of Blair. Purpose of said hearing was to consider the appli®
ca.tion. for a Va.rian.ce Permit for Kathy Hoffman. to obtain, authoriza-
tion to put up a fence at 1526 Grant Street, Blair, Nebraska.
Present: Kathy Hoffman., Sally Birdsell (on behalf of Max Bain.
property owner next door), Russell Mussick (also a neighbor),
Wyman. Nelson and Douglas Bullock.
Members present: Magrue, Duden, Murdock and Ca.rlson.
Kathy Hoffman. asked to put a decorative fence to the sidewalk line
instead of the frontage lot line of her property.
A discussion.between. Hoffman and her neighbors wa.s heard and many
questions asked, and answered by her, and Wyman Nelson., City Attorney,
and Douglas Bullock, City Administrator.
A written, agreement must be signed by the property owners, that if
the City Utilities must enter or use the frontage back to the lot
line, the property owner must stand the expense of removing the
fence. If the property owner should wish to replace the fence, it
will be at their expense also. This Agreement will be filed on,
the abstract (real estate) by the owner, so there would be a. record
of the variance if the property should be sold in. the future.
Motion, was made by Carlson, and seconded by Duden, to allow a decora-
tive fence to extend to the sidewalk line. Vote: Yes, Carlson.
and Duden; Na.y - Murdock; Magrue abstained. Motion. carried.
#2. Purpose of said second hearing was to consider the applica.tion.for
a. Variance Permit for Kevin Blair to obtain, authorization. to put up
a. fence to 2204 Jackson. St., Blair, Nebraska.
Present: Kevin.Blair, Wyman. Nelson, Douglas Bullock.
Members Present: Magrue, Duden, Murdock and Ca.rlson..
Kevin Blair asked to place a solid 6 -foot high fence on. the North
side of his property. See plot plan, attached. Mr. Blair had a
signed statement from his neighbor to the West not objecting to
the fence on. the lot line.
Motion to allow the fence ma.deby Duden.; 2n.d by Murdock. Vote: Aye
Duden., Murdock, Magrue, Carlson; Nay- none.
Motion, to adjourn. made by Murdock, second -e"1 by Duden., motion carried.
