Park Board Meeting Minutes, April 11, 2018
CALL TO ORDER
Park Board president Neal Jensen called the April 11, 2018 Park meeting to order at
7:00 P.M.
Present: Neil Jensen, Jeene Hobbs, Todd Wick, Betsy Anderson and Parks
Superintendent Pat Long.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Jeanne Hobbs made a motion to approve the minutes of the March 14, 2018 meeting.
Motion was second by Todd Wick. The motion was approved.
APPROVAL OF BILLS
There were no bills presented – bills will be submitted later in the month. These bills will
include $2720.00 for Black Elk Neighardt lighting. A proposal for replacement of flood
lights below the Tower of the Four Winds is still outstanding.
OLD BUSINESS
Pat Long reported the city has asked to receive alternative bids for the Steyer Park play
ground surface area. The park department currently has a bid of $87,500 for a concrete
with rubber surfacing. To compare costs the city would like additional bids for wood
fiber and loose fill crumb rubber.
The Lions Park bathroom construction project is underway. The water and sewer lines
are now tied in.
NEW BUSINESS

There will be a tree planting at Steyer Park in recognition of Arbor Day April 27
at 1:15 P.M.
The Black Elk Neighardt dedication will be at the Blair Public Library and Technology
Center on May 19th at 10:00 A.M.
Bid proposals have been sent out for a compact pickup. These bids were requested
from Sid Dillon, Woodhouse Ford, Woodhouse Nissan, Corwin Toyota and Baxter
Toyota.

Neil Jensen adjourned the meeting at 8:05 P.M.
