1997-6-5A meeting of the Police Retirement Committee was held on June 5,
1997 at 12:00 noon in the City Council Chambers. The meeting was
called to order by City Administrator Storm at 12:00 p.m.
Those present were Committee members Chief of Police Doeden, LeeRoy
Swanson, Investigator Shaw for Captain Ed Kuhl, John Shotwell and
Tom Sick. Those absent were: Captain Ed Kuhl. Also present were
Secretary Nickerson, Greg Johnson from Kirkpatrick Pettis and City
Attorney John Samson.
A motion was made by Tom Sick to approve the minutes of the March
11, 1997 meeting. Motion was seconded by Lee Roy Swanson. Those
present voting aye. Motion was carried.
Presentation was given by Greg Johnson explaining the 1st quarter
report and that he increased equities 5%. Blair Police Fund down
1.5 % for quarter- calculation for 3/31-6/3 is 6.65% positive and
5.13 year to date for everything. As of May 30, 1997 Grand Total of
investments were $659,375.00.
City Administrator Storm explained the status of Officer Sanchez
and the options for the Committee to consider.
Motion to recommend to City Council was made by Lee Roy Swanson and
seconded by Tom Sick that Larry Sanchez be placed a permanent
disability once his sick leave and vacation time was exhausted.
Those present voting aye. Those voting nay: none. Motion was
carried.
Motion to adjourn the meeting at 1:17 p.m. was made by Tom Sick and
seconded by LeeRoy Swanson. Those present voting aye. Motion was
carried.
