COUNCIL MEMBER WOLFF INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION:
WHEREAS, Section 5-404 of the municipal Code of the City of Blair provides that the
governing body may by resolution prohibit or regulate parking on designated streets or parts of
streets, and
WHEREAS, the Conditional Use Permit issued to Sharp Image, Inc., on October 8, 2013,
included the intent of the city council to restrict parking on both sides of Pleasant Valley Blvd
once a permanent structure was built south of Pleasant Valley Blvd, and
WHEREAS parking in Blair is prohibited on the south side of all east -west streets.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BLAIR, NEBRASKA, that parking is prohibited on the north side of Pleasant
Valley Blvd., and the Street Department of the City of Blair is hereby authorized and directed to
place signs reflecting the no parking area as established hereby at necessary intervals along said
restricted parking areas.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that following the passage of this Resolution it shall be
unlawful for any person to fail, neglect, or refuse to comply with said parking restriction.
COUNCIL MEMBER WOLFF MOVED THAT THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED AS
READ, WHICH SAID MOTION WAS SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER ANDERSEN.
UPON ROLL CALL, COUNCIL MEMBERS SHEPARD, STEWART, HANSEN, WILLIS,
ANDERSEN, WOLFF, HALL AND JENSEN VOTING "AYE", AND COUNCIL MEMBERS
NONE VOTING "NAY", THE MAYOR DECLARED THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 23RD DAY OF AUGUST, 2016.
