Description of the work: The MMU facility for Novozymes includes the areas of
the Metal Container storage, Cold storage, Warehouse, Office Area, Mechanical
Room and the Loadout canopy in Blair, Nebraska. The basic use of the building is
the storage, and transfer of enzyme materials to and from the building by vehicular
equipment. No rail sidings are planned. The building itself is basically rectangular
shaped, slightly smaller than the the size of a football field. It is a one story metal
building of a height adequate to store large containers, moved about with an
overhead crane within the building. Since it is a storage facility, it will house a
minimum number of personnel.
Use and occupancy classification is Group 5-1 Moderate-hazard storage: This
storage facility contents are a majority of fire-resistant metal storage containers,
and a minority of polyethylene enclosed containers on wooden or polyethylene plastic
pallets. The metal storage containers are in the Container Storage area, and the
pallet storage in is the Cold Storage and Warehouse areas.
Type of Construction: This total building encloses a total of 41,686 square feet of
floor area, mostly devoted to storage and the transfer of the stored material.
Therefore when all the avenues of space adjustments are reviewed, it has been
determined it should be classified as Construction Type IlIA. Area modification is
acquired largely by site clearances to the property lines, and to the open space
around the building. Therefore, this space meets the requirements of table 503,
allowable height and area.
Means of Egress: The requirement of the common path of egress travel is easily
satisfied with seven outside wall exit doors, all tied together with assessable clear
paths of travel within the spaces. Since the occupant load will be less than 24, and
the majority is next to an outside wall, compliance is rather easy. The minimum
number of plumbing fixture are more than adequate and placed near the largest
concentration of personnel. The building has a singular use, and, type of occupants
so no separating fire barriers are planned.

Fire Protection Systems: An automatic sprinkler system is planned for the areas
occupied by personnel and where pallet storage is located. No sprinkler system is
planned in the metal container storage and area, and the MMU unit, but rather a fire
detection system with alarms and notification devices. The fire system is served by a
6" underground water main. A complete NFPA 13 wet fire sprinkler system is planned
to be installed in the office area, cold storage area, warehouse area, and the drive
through lane. The warehouse and cold storage areas will protect the 20 foot high
solid pile or palletized storage of Class 2 commodity with a design density of .
17/2000 + 500 stream. The office area will be designed for light hazard (.10/1500 +
100 hose stream).
The energy efficiency requirements have not been reviewed at this time.
The flame spread rating for interior finishes are class C minimum for walls and
ceiling.

BUILDING PERMIT DEPOSIT AGREEMENT
A $500.00 refundable deposit is being collected for any new commercial, new
residential, and any additions, remodels and accessory building valued $10,000 or
greater at the time of your building permit application.
A $200.00 refundable deposit is being collected for any residential remodel,
addition or accessory building valued under $10,000.
A $50.00 refundable deposit is being collected for all misc. permits.
The City reserves the right to not refund this deposit if any of the following
conditions occur during the construction period:
1) Theft of water service by the plumber, owner or general contractor.
2) All permits have not been obtained.
3) All required inspections have not been obtained.
4) Occupancy occurs prior to a final inspection.
5) The project is completed without a final inspection being done.
6) Storm Water Management Plan inspection not obtained. (If Required)
If any or all of these situations occur during construction, you may forfeit your
deposit.
I hereby agree to the above conditions, and understand that should any or
all of the above situations occur, the building permit deposit SHALL be forfeited or
