Required improvements consist of the following:
1. Replumb all piping above ground with supports as defined in Plan, where feasible. New buried steel piping
shall be double walled or annually tested, provided with corrosion protection and a protective coating. All
aboveground transfer piping (new & old) shall be located within secondary containment.
2. Install site fencing, gate and lock around tanks, or arrange patrols. Owner to determine fence configuration.
3. Modify drainage to direct runoff from piping and transfer areas to new LINED hOlding pond.
Entire area requires liner. Direct all drainage from non-transfer areas away from the new
ponding area. Regrade in immediate vicinity of tanks to drain to swales between tanks that
drain to new pond. Slope swales at min. SOlo slope to lined ponding area.
4. Construct secondary containment improvements per the Details and Specifications in this Appendix.
Existing on-site soil may be suitable.
5" Provide lined tank and transfer area secondary containment pond with side slopes of 2:1. (See
details in this Appendix. Depth: 3.0 feet Ponding area top dimensions: 18' x 72'
Swales at minimum 5% slope between tanks shall free drain to top of pono
6. Remove Tanks 1 and 7, and cap/remove their plumbing. If left on site, label with sign indicating
date of removal from service.
.7. Provide permanent monuments to confirm continued adequacy of pond depth (e.g. post)
8. Provide traffic barriers, as desired, to protect pipes and ponding area from traffic.
9. Vehicles at loading rack must be located within the high point of drainage during transfers. Placement of a
sign to indicate where the tractor stops is recommended. /
10. Slope ponding area to low point for pumping sump. If desired, provide gradual steps into pond to proVide access
to pump out water.
11. Do not stockpile snow in ponding or secondary containment areas.
12. Locate all buried utilities and contact Diggers Hotline of Nebraska (800-331-5666) before digging.
