FIELD INSPECTION REPORT Project: Jim Sandvold Building Soil Sampling :1 Job No: 07314.001 Location: 451 S. 3rd Avenue, Blair NE Date: 4/27/2018 Inspector: Rob McClenahan, Jon Goldie, P.E. Inspector Certification No, 8719994 Weather: Clear, 65OF Time Arrived: 13:00 Report No. 1 Inspection Frequency Periodic Continuous Time Leaving: 14:00 Lab No. Inspection Type Structural Steel, Bolts Concrete Reinforcement Prestressed Concrete Structural Steel, Welds Structural Masonry Fireproofing, Spray -Applied .......... Other: Soil Sampling Inspections and Observations: On site soils review (Rob McClenahan): I arrived on site around 1:00 pm and met with Jim, who showed me where the building will be located. Jim had already drilled approximately 48" deep in two locations near to the where the footings will be placed. I used a hammer and jack to take one Shelby tube sample from each location, and used a hand penetrometer to measure the bearing capacity of the soil. The soil appeared to be native soil. The sample taken from the center of the north footing line had a penetrometer reading in excess of 4.5 tsf, while the sample taken from the center of the south footing line had a reading of 2,75 tsf. These numbers indicate that the required bearing capacity of 2000 psf has been met. Review of soils in lab (Jon Goldie): I reviewed the soil samples that Rob took from the project site. The soils consist of native colluvial soil and the pocket penetrometer readings of 2.75 to 4.5+ tsf indicate that the soil support is consistent with the design bearing capacity of 2000 psf.
