Fire Protection Features Provided — Total Sprinkler & Fire Alarm
NOTE: The permit and inspection of the branch circuit(s) supplying the fire alarm equipment(s) shall be completed by the
Nebraska State Electrical Division or their Delegated Authorities separate from this permit and inspection.
1. The branch circuit supplying the fire alarm equipment(s) shall supply no other loads. The location of the branch -circuit
overcurrent protective device shall be permanently identified at the fire alarm control unit. The circuit disconnecting
means shall have red identification, shall be accessible only to qualified personnel, and shall be identified as "FIRE
ALARM CIRCUIT." The red identification shall not damage the overcurrent protective devices or obscure the
manufacturer's markings. This branch circuit shall not be supplied through ground -fault circuit interrupters or arc -fault
circuit -interrupters. NFPA 70 760.41(B)
2. Where a required fire alarm system is out of service for more than 4 hours in a 24-hour period, the AHJ shall be notified,
and the building shall be evacuated OR an approved fire watch shall be provided for all parties left unprotected by the
shutdown until the fire alarm system has been returned to service. LSC 9.6.1.6
3. RE: NAC - In areas that are not continuously occupied automatic smoke detection shall be installed to provide
notification of fire at the following locations:
(1) Each fire alarm control unit.
(2) Notification appliance circuit power extenders.
(3) Supervising station transmitting equipment
